Barnashrone N.S - School Calendar 2026-2027

2026  

• Thursday 27^th August – School re-opens at 9 a.m. -  After School Club commences for Senior Infants from today.   Contact Jackie in the office for more information to register your child. Junior Infants will go home at 12 noon each day until Friday 11th September.

• From Monday 14th September - the Junior Infant Class will go home at 1.40 p.m.  

• Thursday 1^st October – School closes at 12 noon to facilitate a Staff Meeting

• Friday 23rd October – School closes at 12 noon for Halloween Holidays   School reopens on Monday 2nd November 

• Monday 9^th November - School Photograph Day      

• Thursday 19th November - School will close early at 2.15 p.m. to facilitate Parent/Teacher Meetings. 

• Tuesday 22nd December – School closes at 12 noon – for Christmas Holidays 

  
  

2027

• Wednesday 6^th January - school reopens after Christmas Break

• Thursday 28^th January – School closes at 12 noon to facilitate a Staff Meeting

• Friday 29^th January and Monday 1st February – School closed for Bank Holiday  

• Wednesday 17^th February – School closes at 12 noon for Mid Term Break - CLOSED on Thursday 18th & Friday 19th February. – School reopens on Monday 22nd February 

• Thursday 25^th February – School will close early at 2.15 p.m. to facilitate Parent/Teach Meetings

• Wednesday 17th March – School Closed for St. Patrick’s Day  

• Friday 19^th March – school closes 12 noon for Easter Holidays  School reopens on Monday 5th April. 

• Friday 30^th April – school closes at 12 noon for Staff Meeting.  We are then closed for the Mid Term Break.  School Re-opens Monday 10th May.

• 17^th – 21st May - Standardised Testing will take place in school this week.  It is very important your child attends school on these days                                                                                         

• Friday 4th June – School closed for Long June Bank Holiday Weekend   School re-opens on WEDNESDAY 9^th June     (School closed Friday, Monday and Tuesday)

• Wednesday 30th June – School closes at 12 noon for Summer Holidays      

• The above may be subject to change.  *** Celebration of the Holy Sacraments will be notified as soon as they are arranged.  

• There will be 4 or 5 In-Service days in 2026-27 school year to facilitate the introduction of the New Primary Curriculum Framework.  In-Service Days are decided by the Department of Education will be notified as soon as they are confirmed.
